Terms of Service

1. Services
GAR Automotive Engineering provides precision engine rebuilding, reconditioning, machining, and dyno-testing services for petrol and diesel applications. All work is subject to a prior inspection and formal quotation.
2. Quotations
All quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue. Quoted prices are estimates based on initial inspection. Should additional work or parts be required once the engine is stripped, a revised quotation will be presented for your approval before work proceeds.
3. Authorisation
Work will only commence once written or verbal authorisation has been received from the customer or an authorised representative. By authorising work you confirm you are the legal owner of the vehicle or engine, or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
4. Payment
A deposit may be required before work commences on larger jobs.
Final payment is due in full upon collection of the vehicle or engine.
We accept EFT and cash. No goods will be released until payment has cleared.
Uncollected goods held for more than 30 days after completion may incur a storage fee.
5. Warranty
Reconditioned and rebuilt engines are warranted against defects in workmanship for a period of 6 months or 20,000 km, whichever comes first, subject to the engine being used under normal operating conditions and serviced at the recommended intervals. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from overheating, incorrect installation, or misuse.
6. Liability
GAR Automotive Engineering's liability is limited to the cost of the original work performed. We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses including loss of income, vehicle hire, or loss of use. Customer vehicles and engines are held at the owner's risk while on our premises.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court, Randfontein, or the High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Local Division) as appropriate.
